THE QUEEN'S CHRISTMAS
BROADCAST TO THE COMMONWEALTH 2003
I am sure that most of
you will be celebrating Christmas at home in the company of your families
and friends, but I know that some of you will not be so lucky. This
year I am speaking to you from the Household Cavalry Barracks in Windsor
because I want to draw attention to the many Servicemen and women who
are stationed far from home this Christmas. I am thinking about their
wives and children, and about their parents and friends. Separation
at this time is especially hard to bear.
It is not just a matter
of separation. The men and women of the Services continue to face serious
risks and dangers as they carry out their duties. They have done this
brilliantly. I think we all have very good reasons for feeling proud
of their achievements - both in war, and as they help to build a lasting
peace in troublespots across the globe.
None of this can be achieved
without paying a price. I know that all our thoughts at this time are
with the families who are suffering the pain of bereavement. All those
who have recently lost a close relative or friend will know how difficult
Christmas can be.
These individual Servicemen
and women are our neighbours and come from our own towns and villages;
from every part of the country and from every background. The process
of training within the Navy, the Army and the Air Force has moulded
them together into disciplined teams. They have learnt to take responsibility
and to exercise judgement and restraint in situations of acute stress
and danger. They have brought great credit to themselves and to our
country as a whole.
I had an opportunity
recently at the Barracks to meet some of those who played their part
with such distinction in the Iraq operations. I was left with a deep
sense of respect and admiration for their steadfast loyalty to each
other and to our nation.
I believe there is a
lesson for us all here. It is that each of us can achieve much more
if we work together as members of a team. The Founder of the Christian
Faith himself chose twelve disciples to help him in his ministry.
I was reminded of the importance of teamwork as I presented, for the
first time last Summer, the Queen's Awards for Voluntary Service by
groups within the community. I have been struck by how often people
say to me that they are receiving their award on behalf of a team and
that they do not deserve to be singled out. This annual award recognises
the team rather than the individual.
In this country and throughout
the Commonwealth there are groups of people who are giving their time
generously to make a difference to the lives of others. As we think
of them, and of our Servicemen and women far from home at this Christmas
time, I hope we all, whatever our faith, can draw inspiration from the
words of the familiar prayer:
Teach us good Lord
To serve thee as thou deservest;
To give, and not to count the cost;
To fight, and not to heed the wounds;
To toil, and not to seek for rest;
To labour, and not to ask for any reward;
Save that of knowing that
we do thy will.
It is this knowledge
which will help us all to enjoy the Festival of Christmas.

Tragic
- shocking - and in one giant step backward from wisdom - knowledge
and truth. Unprecedented in modern times - a reigning monarch and the
head of the Church Of England has been deluded and misled by criminals
under the control of demonic forces into believing that in Iraq and
elsewhere - "... we do thy will".
Quite
clearly - Her Majesty needs to be reminded - over 2,000 years ago -
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son - so that
peace and goodwill should abide with all men. "Greater
love hath no man than this - that a man lay down his life for his friends
- KJV+ John 15:13".
The Holy
Spirit does not reside with any person whose actions and conduct are
contrary in every respect to the preceding. Furthermore - any person
regardless of office or standing who supports or affirms such conduct
and behavior - has surely forfeited the right to any utterance or claim
of - speaking for - or acting on behalf of - God.
The Son
Of Man - made it very clear - "because
you are so hard to teach - GNB Mat 19:8". Yet even
after 2,000 years - they are still making
the same mistakes and STILL HAVEN'T LEARNT THEIR LESSON.
As it was then - rogue politicians and the ruling elite in a trumped
up and fabricated charge inspired by malice and the thirst for ultimate
power - sought to eliminate Him and whoever else they perceived to be
a threat to their political position.
Inspired
by great vision and foresight more than 2 years ago - The Voice Of The
World took the leading role in this international initiative for peace
- justice and sustainable development for all peoples in all countries
- and to - PUT A STOP FOR ALL TIME
- the threat to the peace and well being of the world and it's people
- posed by a rogue politician and his administration in the United States.
Every
thinking and God fearing person from any part of the world whatsoever
- knows that what Bush is doing is WRONG
and SO TERRIBLY WRONG. A
man such as Bush is oblivious to the fact that - "Love
Conquers All Things". The
world is learning at great cost. At the moment - THERE
IS NO SUCH THING AS INTERNATIONAL LAW. All man made law
- is only enforceable by governments. AND
NOONE ENFORCES so-called international law. AND
Bush and the Executive are making this a reality as each day passes.
The only entity that ever remotely approached the status of enforcing
international law - the United Nations - has effectively abdicated that
role pursuant to this
most prophetic claim by TVOTW in the inaugural address of 12 February
2002.
At
the same time - the same thinking and God fearing person referred to
above - also knows that what The Voice Of The World is saying and continously
reaffirming - in the spirit of what we know to be right - will be justified
by the test of time - and stand alone and above all else - for the protection,
safety and security of all men and women regardless of race - color
- religion or creed.]
