THE
NEED FOR BALANCE IN ALL THINGS
We
have dealt at length with "Why
- What's Gone Wrong?" and "Why
- TVOTW?" in other sections of this web site.
The
earth over the centuries has been able to sustain life and provide all
of the resources that we have identified with as essential to sustain
and nourish its inhabitants. The excesses of the twentieth century illustrated
all too clearly how the earth's entire ecosystems and equilibrium can
be disrupted by a lack of balance in the use or exploitation by mankind
of the earth's resources.
Unfortunately,
one aspect of the human condition that comes with affluence and the
freedom to make decisions and choices about the many aspects of how
we spend our lives is the tendency to become somewhat preoccupied with
self and to a considerable degree myopic and with that - a lack of concern
for others.
This
also has a considerable affect and impact upon the way people behave
and interact with others. There is a need for a constant self monitoring
of our behaviour patterns to ensure that not only are we aware of our
current state of mind which determines behaviour - but that there is
indeed a degree of balance in what we are doing.
The
best way of getting this into perspective is to take a few steps back
and consider whether what we are doing individually or collectively
as a nation is consistent with how we would have other people or other
countries behave toward us.
If
we were to take a random selection of say 1,000 people from anywhere
else in the world on a trip to Afghanistan and Pakistan at the moment
- each and every one of those people would be ashamed to the point of
a serious guilt complex at the marked disparity between every aspect
of life in those countries and that of life in say - the United States.
If
people in the United States were subjected to less than 1% of the deprivation
and suffering of the people in those countries there would be howls
of rage from Miami to Anchorage.
This
question of the maintenance of balance gets clouded by the prejudice,
bigotry and ignorance that comes about when
the mass media fails to communicate or inform the population of the
truth as to what is happening in these other countries. It
is easy to pass judgment on a certain happening or situation if you
haven't been there - and haven't lived it - as millions are required
to do in the other countries mentioned.
It
becomes even more difficult to the point of being impossible when you
are not told the truth of a given situation.
The best way of putting this into perspective is the following example.
If a person were to be accused of a crime by say ten people acting in
concert in a conspiracy to fabricate evidence or to testify in a malicious
lie of the accused person having said or done the things they wrongly
accused him of.
In
the past - many an injustice took place in this fashion. Thankfully
technology can provide the means of supporting amd maintaining the truth.
If the accused in the scenario above were
able to produce a recording of what was truly said or done
by the participants in the alleged crime - who
would you believe? The ten people perpetuating a lie or one independent
tape recording of the truth.
This
is the path and the result. Where there is
no truth there is no balance.
When
an injustice takes place another results and it compounds and multiplies
until the harm and the damage reaches catastrophic proportions.
It then becomes nigh on impossible to right the wrongs because of the
domino effects and the extent of personal suffering that has been generated.
[Here
is a classic example of what happens when the truth goes out the window.
The result is that convoluted - and twisted - it is nigh on impossible
to repair the damage and the lives of many, many people are ruined in
the process -
where the said damage also includes murder.]
For
the most part this suffering has been in silence but God sees and knows
all of what has been happening for so long now and the cries of those
affected have not fallen on deaf ears.
Those
of you who are reading this who belong to Him - will
know that what we say here is both - right - and the truth.
The suffering and the futility of it all - has
to stop.
We
will have the peace between all mankind that we have strived for and
are entitled to -
in accordance with His divine will.
